Joo Ok is a fine dining restaurant founded in 2016 by Chef Shin Chang-ho. Translating to ‘threading precious jade marbles,’ Joo Ok brings together the freshest seasonal ingredients and Korean staples in harmony.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate any allergy and dietary restrictions at this time.

Please note our cancellation policy: cancellation made within 3 days of your reservation will incur a non-refundable fee of $100 per guest, and no shows will be charged the full dinner cost of $180 per guest.

Our corkage policy is $70 per 750 ml bottle of wine, up to a maximum of two (2) bottles per reservation.

Approach

  • With the goal of crafting entire courses using 100% locally sourced ingredients that embody the flavors of the local soil, water, and wind, we grow our signature perilla and other unavailable ingredients at the house farm in Upstate New York.

  • Jang, the Korean mother sauces, is always made in-house at Joo Ok. We believe the beauty of Korean cuisine lies in the art of fermenting jang and that the nuanced, complex flavors that define Joo Ok come from our jang, made with recipes and fermentation methods we have cultivated over time.

  • We are dedicated to eco-responsibility through the following sustainable practices:

    • Practice root-to-stem cooking and composting.

    • Reduce food miles by sourcing locally and from house farms.

    • Exclusively use reusable or biodegradable resources.
